Announcement: Goodbye and Hello.
We were so pleased to have local artist Valerie Seaberg’s ceramic and mixed media works on display in our storefront window at our 108 A&D Sebastopol location, and sorry to see her go! We are thrilled, however, to welcome Todd Barricklow and his recreational defense vehicles to our storefront!

Announcement: LLA Joins the 2030 Commitment
We are happy to announce that Lars Langberg Architects has become a signatory to the AIA 2030 Commitment, joining more than 700 firms and organizations worldwide. This initiative encourages architects to strive to create carbon neutral buildings by the year 2030. Buildings contribute to 39% of all global greenhouse gas emissions and consume 60% of electricity worldwide and these numbers can be significantly reduced through appropriate design strategies.

Lars’ Reflections: Restaurants in the Time of Covid
Navigating quarantine and social distancing has been a tremendous challenge for restaurants as they struggle to keep the doors open requiring operational changes. These three restaurants in west Sonoma County, CA — Khom Loi, Sonoma Station, and K&L Bistro — were at different stages in their development when Covid hit, but all required creative thinking to adapt.

Lars’ Reflections: Sojourning in 2021
I received an email from my father the other day; he'll share his thoughts with me from time to time on the world at large, while also occasionally delving into more personal observations of my work. As a lifelong progressive educator, he's always had a thoughtful way of inspiring and engaging in creative exploration.

Announcement: Exploring Our Approach to Fire Rebuild
When there’s a disaster, everyone responds in a different way. Watch a short clip of Denver office principal architect, Charles Marr, as he describes our response as a firm to the fire rebuild in our process, approach with clients, and use of materials.

Project Update: A Fire Rebuild
After a devastating loss in the Tubbs Fire of late 2017, our fire rebuild project continues to move forward. See the new design renderings of a residential project that persevered total loss, embraced the difficult task, and courageously created again.

Lars’ Reflections: Gratitude in a Time of Perseverance
Being in the wide open expanse of the desert, surrounded by the pure beauty of nature and the kinship of old friends, allowed me the space to hear my own thoughts clearly, and to process the myriad feelings of a tough year.

Announcement: The Boards - AIA Design Awards
It's here! The 2020 Design Awards for the Redwood Empire chapter of the American Institute of Architects. Reflections: Harbin, A History of the Site
Long before this site took its current name the lands of Harbin Hot Springs was a Native American gathering spot for the Pomo Indians for around 11,000 years.

Lars’ Reflections: Walking Tall Amongst the Ashes
It's been our honor to work with Harbin Hot Springs -- a North Bay, California institution synonymous with relaxation, unplugging from the world, magical settings, and therapeutic waters -- as it recovers and rebuilds from the devastation of the 2015 Valley Fire that burned nearly all its infrastructure and 10,000 acres.

Reflections on Leadership
This past year I was a member of the latest cohort of the Leadership Institute in Sonoma County. This is a program that has been active in our area for 18 years, bringing together inspired people from many backgrounds looking to take stock of their place in the world, and investigate how to become more effective leaders in their life.

Our Latest Work
The Rugo-Scott project was originally conceived as an alternate solution to the remodel and expansion of the main house in the family's desire for more space and guest accommodations.
