Lars’ Reflections: Our Acts of Service
Dear Friends,
Our company recently had its annual retreat, and we all got to reflect on our personal experience as a team, the growth of the business, the connections we've made, and our collective spirit in the face of ongoing challenges. As we continue to embrace a greater sense of responsibility of the impact of our work in the world, we are also finding ways to give back, and engage in our local communities through volunteer service.
Many of you know I have been a long-standing member of the City of Sebastopol's Design Review Board, which serves to review building projects and implement standards for public spaces in Sebastopol. More recently, I have taken on the role of a liaison to the Public Art Committee, which serves our community through establishing public works of art, including the recent installation of the Community Sculpture Garden in Ives Park. It has been rewarding to be a part of a public process to bring art and beauty to our town.
Our Denver team lead, Charles Marr, has been doing ongoing pro bono work utilizing his professional experience with The Lion Project, an organization that serves non-profits in the Denver area by bringing together capital and creatives for on-the-ground work and visioning.
Listening, empathizing, inspiring: these have always been core values of our leadership at Lars Langberg Architects. We are excited to bring that energy to projects outside our typical realm, and to give back as a reflection of our commitment to community.
Warmest wishes for a beautiful start to 2023.
Sincerely,
Lars
